I'm probably over-looking something obvious, but I need to find a print
management tool for Solaris 8.
We need to be able to accept incoming jobs for a single large printer, and
then have a printer operator release them once he's loaded the right stock.
We're a university, so we have a zillion different forms; we're converting our
main software from a Wang-based system (that had its own job control) to
Oracle on Solaris, and I dunno how exactly to replace this functionality.
Will LPRng do this? Is there something better? I used Helios EtherShare in
a previous job/life to manage spooled print jobs on a Sun server, and
something sort of similar would be nice.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions, either freeware or commercial
products.
