shared memory locked

Hello everyone,

We have one SunFire 420R with 4 UltraSPARC 450MHz cpus and 4G physical memory
running Sybase data server & backup server. Os is solaris 8.

When sybase backup server starts, it will create another share memory segment,
which I can see using "ipcs". After the backup finishes, it should release the
share memory but it doesn't. I have to manually release it.

My first idea is system patches. However we have another SunFire 280R, which has
the exact same os release, patch level, application, sybase version, running
well. Sybase backup server releases the shared memory after the backup finishes.

Can someone give me a hint how to trace the problem without rebooting the
machine?
