Static routes that stay on reboot

Hello all, I know how to add static routes to a system (Solaris 9) and
they work properly but I could use a hand with getting them to stay on
the system after rebooting. I have tried using the /etc/gateways file
and entered the following:

            net 192.168.3.0/24 gateway 192.168.1.254 passive

But it doesn't seem to take. Any thoughts?
