Is Wordperfect for UNIX now a dead product? I'm setting up
a Solaris 8 sparc box for a user who is now using Wordperfect 7
for UNIX on a Solaris 2.6 box. Wordperfect 7 in GUI mode (xwp)
gets a segment violation at startup on Solaris 8 while reading in
the fonts. I was hoping that I could find Wordperfect 8 for UNIX,
but it doesn't look like anyone sells it anymore. No info at
www.corel.com.
I also have StarOffice 6.0 installed on the machine, but it looks like
it can't deal with Wordperfect files.
The current alternative seems to be for her to go through five years of
documents on her 2.6 box, and convert them to minimal MS format from
Wordperfect 7.
