using Patch Pro and smpatch

I searched the archives at www.sunmanagers.org and didn't see many
summaries on using Sun's "new" PatchPro tool. I have a mix of Solaris 2.6
and 8 boxes. I notice their white paper on Recommended Patch Strategies
seems to indicate that they are moving toward this tool as a standard and
will be abandoning older methods. The documentation on using it is a bit
sparse though. It seems to be ok if you want to set it up to analyze and
download all patches a system needs but the analysis can't be very
selective. What I'd like to know is if there is any way to have it download
and install only the Recommended and Security patches like come in the old
patch clusters. When I compared a list of patches from the smpatch analyze
command with the list of patches in a 2.6_Recommended cluster there were
quite a few that were in that cluster. What I'm currently trying is
running smpatch to download all patches a system thinks it needs and then
running smpatch add -x idlist=patch_order where patch_order is the list
from a 2.6_Recommended cluster. TIA for any information.
