I'm planning to transfer applications from 2 E3500(Solaris 2.6)to 1 V880
(Solaris 8). Is it a good idea?
The first E3500 runs oracle with 4 CPUs (400MHz)and 4GB memory. It's load
average always hasbeen below 2
sometime even below 1.
The second E3500 runs clearcase, sun compiler and some 3rd party tools like
purify,quantify,cadre etc...
with 6 CPUs (400 MHz)and 6GB memory. It's load average has been below 2.

I would like to combine functions of both on to single V880 with 6 900 MHz CPUs
and 12GB RAM.
Please let me know if it sounds good? Also if there are any issues with V880
that I should know about.
