Configuring dev and devices entries

I try to recover a Sun Microsystems Server running Solaris 2.6 (SunOS G9JYG
5.6 Generic_105181-23 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-4).
The directories /dev and /devices are not recovered probably. I used a Solaris
8 (7/01) CDROM to boot the Server.
I used the Solaris 8 devfsadm Command to recreate the /dev and /devices
entries for Solaris 2.6.

/usr/sbin/devfsadm -r $BP -p $BP/etc/path_to_inst -t $BP/etc/devlink.tab

where BP=/tmp/mnt # mount point of the root partition from the Solaris
2.6 disk

Is this practicable?

Before this I had copy the $BP/etc/path_to_inst.
After the Command above the path_to_inst File is different from the original.
Is this OK?

After reboot the Server with RECONFIGURE option on the Console following
message appears:

"/dev/ip busy"

After I retry to reboot the Server with RECONFIGURE option already is fine.

Please help!
Send email and I will summarize to the list.

yours sincerely

Mit freundlichem Gru_

Michael H|bner
