Hi All,
Is it possible to run Solaris8 (with or without 64bit) on SS5? I
have an SS5 running Solaris2.6 (it is slow by current standards but does
the work beautifully). I installed Solaris8 on an external scsi disk
(SS5 booted of Solaris8 properly and installation went through
smoothly). After the installation when it tries to boot (boot-disk is
set appropriately) following warning shows up
"The file just loaded does not appear to be executable"
and OBP prompt comes up. Solaris2.6 is on an internal disk and it works
fine. OpenBoot version on the machine is 2.15. Do I need to upgrade OBP?
I think that OBP version is fine since the machine boots off Solaris8 cd
properly. Any inputs would be appreciated.

Regards,
Prakash
