Well, Sun now says they DID see the problem after some info I sent
them and are calling it a bug. However, it seems to go away on them and
they haven't been able to reliably reproduce it lately. They sent an
xscope program for me to try to run a trace on the X traffic but it
seems to go into a loop and never actually get started.... So I'm waiting
on Sun right now.

Interesting it's happening on NT also.

I found it seems to depend on how long openwindows has been running.
Restart openwindows and you usually won't see the problem for a while....

They also found it interesting what part number was on the FFB board.
That seemed to be of some help in getting it to fail for them...

It's case #63295373 and they gave it a bug#4798243 and an
escalation of #543064. Not sure if you can see any of that on the
support site or not... Or if you want to open a case and refer to those
numbers... Maybe info you have might help them?

  Bob

p.s. I'm gonna cc this to sunmanagers so anyone else watching can
get the updated info.
