Sun ultra 10 hard drives

I was recently told and shown an ultra 10 running a 40 gig maxtor 7200 rpm
drive

I purchased a maxtor DiamondMax 9 7200 rpm drive and installed it as the
primary slave. I also replaced the primary drive with a 20 gig baracuda. The
40 gig drive initially came up with a bad magic number. I booted into
single-user mode and fixed the label with format.

Now I go to install solaris 7 (i know it's old, but it was the requested
environment). When I get to my partition selection, it shows the baracude as
19.1 gigs which is normal, but it shows the 40 gig maxtor as a 6 gig drive!

Any ideas at all about how to correct this issue? I really really need the
space....

The maxtor model is a 6Y040L0

Thanks all!
