Dear Sun Managers,

I need your help urgently.

I have an Ultra-2 machine running Solaris 8. I'm using
Diskless client administration tools to configure my
OS services.

The command I use to run is

/usr/sadm/bin/smosservice add --auth-data
/var/run/auth -- -xmediapath=/home/Solaris_8 -x
platform=sparc.sun4u.Solaris_8 -x cluster=SUNWCXall

When creating an OS Service, the error message is

Insufficient space available on
/dev/md/dsk/d0 /
The partition / does not have enough free space.
1109039 KB (1083.05 MB) additional space required.

But the free space on / and /export is more than
sufficient as shown below.

Filesystem kbytes used avail capacity
Mounted on
/dev/md/dsk/d0 2066211 884694 1109831 45% /
/dev/md/dsk/d8 2035103 2065 1970045 1%
/export

I found a sunsolve document SRDB 45905 indicating that
this is a known problem and need to remove root and
/export out of disksuite control and put it under UFS
control.

I have remounted / and /export as plain ufs slices,
and repeated the command but getting the following
errors after ran for close to an hour?

The management domain file:/nptx/nptx does not exist
or cannot be managed on server nptx. Os service could
not be added. Invalid management scope in object path.

Can some kind soul out there help me on this? What is
the errors mean and how to resolve this?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Tim
