Killing process does not work

Hi all,

I have the following process running on Solaris 8

5473 ahoesch 1637M 292M sleep 60 0 0:10.50 2.3%
BockelmannTask/4

I tried to kill it as root with "kill 5473" (no error message) but the
beast does not die, or at least it does not vanish from the process
list. What am I missing?
