Original post:

If I send email to a local user simply using the login name as an email
address, the received email header will display as
"To: user@node.domain" instead of "user@domain" or simply "user".

How can I avoid this? Is there anything can ba done on the sendmail.cf
file? My environment is Sun Solaris. This happens when I use mailtool
and when I use "pine" to send to a local user. It displays correctly
as "To: user@domain".

The solution:

If maintain sendmail.cf in m4 form, just add a

   MASQUERADE_AS(`domain')dnl

To your .mc file and rebuild the .cf.
