TWO NIC on SUN Box

Hi,

I have two NIC cards on my SUN box (a DNS server). If
I send a request through one NIC card (172.111.111.1)
how would I know it comes back through the same card
(not 172.111.111.2). I need to disable the other card
very soon. I have searched google and this list
without any success.
