Ctrl-C doesn't work

Hello,

I have a system running Sol 7, and just recently Ctrl-C seems to have
stopped working.
The problem doesn't occur for all commands, but for some. For example if I
run one of the following commands:
      tail -f [any file]
      mpstat 1
then I can't quit it using Ctrl-C when I hit Ctrl-C I just see the ^C
characters on my screen. I can, however, use Ctrl-Z to suspend it (I'm
using bash) and then kill it. Some other commands (e.g. top) DO respond
to the Ctrl-C
I'm doing all this as root. The machine is busier than normal, but
doesn't seem to be too busy.

Everything else seems to be normal (e.g. if I do a format, the disk looks
OK, /tmp isn't full, etc.)

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas. I saw something similar to this
once when we had a problem with the disk /tmp was mounted on, but it
doesn't seem to be that this time.

Cheers,

Daniel
