So the boss bought 2 second hand T3's, fully populated with 9Gb drives.
Configured both /etc/ethers (mac & hostname) and /etc/hosts (ip &
hostname), started in.rarpd -a, booted them up and I can never telnet
to them (the machine used is a functional jumpstart server). Even
snooped and used a crossover cable, no traffic. Tried a console cable
to the RJ-11 port, nothing (did get a couple of dots once).
All as outlined in 'Sun StorEdge T3 and T3+ Array Installation,
Operation, and Service Manual' on Sunsolve
The AC LED goes steady green, the PS LED blinks, kept them up for
several hours with no difference. The online light did flash a few
times, but never stayed on. Tried pulling the drives and booting, no
difference.
