Advice on upgrading Ultra 1 NIS+ master from Solaris 2.5.1 to Solaris 8

This evening I am upgrading Ultra 1 NIS+ master from Solaris 2.5.1 to
Solaris 8. The machine
has 64MB RAM , and is running kernel patch Generic_103640-38. I
upgrade the flas-PROM
to the latest version 1 week ago.

Prior to upgrading I will carry out backups of NIS+ via nisaddent , and
I will move /var/nis
to /var/nis.offline , as advised by Sun. Additionally I will do disk
copies of / , /usr , /var and
/opt.

Sun suggest that I take the 'no name service' option , otherwise if I
take the 'NIS+' naming
service option , the machine will get confused at the stage 'Find a NIS+
server'/'Specify a NIS+
server'.

On a previous occasion when I tried to upgrade , I ran out of space on
/usr - it required 863MB
according to the install program. I have now configure 2GB space for
/usr and /opt , root has
38MB total space , 19MB fre /var has 192MB total , 55MB free , /tmp has
512MB space.

Does anybody have any advice re. potential pitfalls on this upgrade ?
When this upgrade has been
completed , I then plan to migrate NIS+ master to new hardware - Sun
Blade 100 , Solaris 8

Any advice very gratefully recieved , thanks
