Serial ports question

hello Sun managers,

Just a question on serial ports. I was trying to install a modem on the
serial port and i think i have messed up my ports.

now when i tip /dev/term/a or /dev/term/b ... i get message port is
unavailable or something.

but then tip /dev/cua/a or /dev/cua/b is says connected.

Question 1:
what is the difference with port term and cua ?
Question 2:
How do i make the port term working again. i don't care about the cua port.
when trying to configure the modem...i had change the permissions of the
term and cua port to UUCP. could that be causing this problem ?

Thanks and hope to hear from you soon. Attached below is what i get when i
do a ls -al:

regards,
Dinesh Paul
