hello,
i have a strange problem with my mail server. This is an u5, 270 Mhz, 256Mo RAM. I have 400 accounts.
When clients use pop, popper take until 40% of cpu. Others users complains when they use their macintosh eudora or other platform. In log, i have a lot of connection error:
Dec 2 12:23:38 mailhost sendmail[12031]: [ID 801593 mail.crit] gB2BNaq12031: SYSERR(root): collect: I/O error on connection from mac_thomas, from=<thomas@cmi.univ-mrs.fr>: Connection reset by mac_thomas

On my workgroup server, /var/mail is nfs-mounted. We use mutt to read mail, and when we quit mutt, this is very long to quit.
/var/mail is installed on an scsi disk.
How can i find where is bottleneck? do you think u5 is too old? new sun blade v120 will be better?
TIA, i will resume
