Hello All.

I have a primary bootdisk and appears to have gone bad and needs to be
replaced. I had to boot off the mirrored boot drive.
The following is the output from vxdisk list command:

# vxdisk list
DEVICE TYPE DISK GROUP STATUS
c0t0d0s2 sliced rootdisk rootdg online failing
c0t1d0s2 sliced rootmirr rootdg online nohotuse
c0t2d0s2 sliced appdisk appgroup online nohotuse
c0t3d0s2 sliced appmirr appgroup online nohotuse

I found these procedures in the Veritas manual for replacing the boot drive
and I just wanted to make sure that this is what I should follow and if
anyone has any other input to add to these procedures. Thanks in advance!!

---------------------------

To replace a boot disk:

1. Boot the system from an alternate boot disk (see Booting from Alternate
Boot Disks
on page 20).

2. Remove the association between the failing device and its disk name using
the
Remove a disk for replacement function of vxdiskadm. (See the vxdiskadm
(1M)
manual page for more information.)

3. Shut down the system and replace the failed hardware.
Recovery by Reinstallation

4. After rebooting, use the vxdiskadm Replace a failed or removed disk
menu item to
notify VxVM that you have replaced the failed disk.
