How to prove that you have successfully booted from a mirror ?

All,

I have spent today configuring a test server with a mirror of the root
partition (/). Unfortunately /usr & /var were on another disk so I didn't
mirror them as well as I only had one spare disk.

Is it possible to boot from a mirror of just the root partition or does /usr
& /var have to be on the same mirror as well.

After creating the mirror I used the nvalias command from ok to create the
alias 'mirror'

On trying to 'boot mirror' from ok it seemed to fail with :-

Can't open disk label package & Can't open boot device, it then seemed to
default back to the primary boot disk and the system came back on line.

Am I right in assuming that the lack of /var & /usr on the mirror is causing
the problem ?

Are there any commands / log files to check what device booted the server ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Mike.
