SUMMARY: alternative filesystem

Gurus;

Sorry for taking several days to summarize.

The original problem was finding a journaling filesystem for Solaris, so that
I need not fsck after every unceremonious shutdown.

Almost every reply that I received suggested either using the journaling
function built into ufs or spend $$$$ on a Veritas product.
Since acquiring the Veritas solution is out of the question, here's the
suggested solution:

Enable logging on the filesystems in /etc/vfstab. Example

/dev/dsk/c1t0d1s0 /dev/rdsk/c1t0d1s0 / ufs 2 yes logging

Then reboot or remount for the change to take effect.
More info is provided in "man mount_ufs"

Thanks to all,

Qv6
