Background:
Ultra 5 running Solaris 8
Solaris 8 flash archive
Solaris 9 boot server
I created a flar from the client Ultra 5, uploaded it to our server. I
installed a Soalris 9 boot server on the same machine, which runs Solaris 7. I
can boot the client from the Solaris 9 install server and select flash as an
installation method. I choose NFS as the retriveal type and specify the path
to the flar file and it finds it. However when it starts to install it says it
can not extract the Flash archive.
When I tried using the flar with a JumpStart server, it gave a more detailed
error mesage saying it could not write to the flar file.
Any thoughts? Does the fact that the flar is of a Soalris 8 system matter?
