Hi,

This being a bit urgent:

We are trying to login to a Sun Server (2.6 Ultra SPARC 2), from a terminal, and it gives the following error:
"No utmpx entry. You must exec 'login' from the lowest 'shell'". Connection closed.

Trying to execute the shutdown -i 0 command gives the error "insufficient variable". Reboot works.

The root partition is also congested and almost filled up.

Any ideas, will be greatly appreciated. Google does not help much.

Will summarize.
