Hello Sun Managers,
I have a Sun StoreEdge T3 disk Array connected to a Sun Ultra Enterprise 450
box (Host System).
Via a fibre cable.
The Ultra 450 is running Solaris 8.
The firmware of the T3 is T300 Release 1.18.00.
I have installed Sun StorEdge Component Manager 2.1 on the host system.
So far the t3array is comfortably on the network and I can telnet into the
box and
run commands.
But the host system connected to the T3 is unable to communicate with the T3
array.
Whenever I execute "format" the disks in the T3array do not show up.
I tried to install StorEdge Volume Manager 2.6 but it would not work and it
complained of not having drivers for Solaris 8.
My questions are:
1. Do I need to install StorEdge Volume Manager to be able use the t3array
with the Solaris 8 on the Ultra 450
if yes is there a version for Solaris 8.
2. If I do not need the Volume Manager what configurations can I make to get
the Ultra 450 to communicate with the
T3array
Thanks
'Demola
