Greetings,
We are having some confusion in the implementation of
the Audio file notification feature on our Solaris 8 boxes.
While we can cat a file to the /dev/audio and the audio tools
work fine, and the beep function on notification also
works fine...
Nothing happens when a known good audio file is entered in
the notification file requestor box. The beep and flash and
such go off as requested, but the audio simply ain't
doin it's thang.
This is the case on every machine type I have tested here,
so it's obviously some sort of setup issue, but I'll be
darned if I can see it.
I actually even tried the
somefile.au > /dev/audio
or the:
cat somefile.au > /dev/audio
entries in the requestor too, to no avail.
Any thoughts?
