I need a couple of things clarified about DNLC on Solaris 7 and 8;
1) Can someone confirm that the maximum length on a DNLC cached
filename is 30 characters (Sol 7 and 8).
2) If indeed there is still a 30 char limit on entries in the DNLC
cache, is there any way to increase it?
Note, I am not talking about increasing the overall size of the
DNLC cache. I am talking about increasing the max size of one entry.
The application is a fairly busy CVS server, where i have no
control over the length of filenames/depth of the filesystem. On a box
with ~70 days of uptime, I see the following from vmstat -s;
18446744072755881881 total name lookups (cache hits 0%)
That seems 'bad' in my books.
Comments/Suggestions?
TIA, Chris
