KVM switch with USB for Sun Blade, PC's with Sun Type6?

Hello everyone,

I am pretty sure that this looks like an FAQ but I think it's not
really cause I'm planning some USB connections and most FAQ's I found
were about older suns or newer suns with USB and PS2 connectors.
( The reason why I'm asking here is that I cannot just buy the switch
I'm planning to buy and return it if it doesn't work...)

I am looking for a KVM switch that will allow me to use
my Sun Type6 USB Keyboard and mouse and to connect:

- A Sun Blade 2000, USB connectors.
(machine is required on the KVM switch)

- Two Peecee's with PS2 connectors.
(those two machines are required on the KVM switch)

- One Sgi Octane with Sgi(???) connectors
(connecting it to the KVM is a nice-to-have
but I can live with the extra Sgi keyboard).

I've been considering the following switch: Belkin, OmniView SOHO Series
4-Port KVM Switch with Audio PS/2 and USB Platform (Belkin Part Number:
F1DS104T). This unit bascially takes a PS2 keyboard and a PS2 mouse and
can connect them to 4 systems using PS2 -OR- USB connectors.

URL:

I have seen reports of other people with blekin PS2 switches who said it
worked fine with a PS2 keyboard and a SunBlade 100 but my expected setup
is a bit different:

- I want to keep my Sun Type6 USB keyboard (I'd have to use a USB->PS2
keyboard adapter in order to connect the keyboard to the Belkin unit).
Will this be OK with the Sun Blade 2000 (going from USB-keyboard to the
PS2 input of the Belkin unit and then again as USB to the SB2k)?

- Are the Peecee's and possibly the SGI going to be OK with a Sun Type6
keyboard through the PS2 connectors?

I'm really lost here as I have never had a KVM switch at home but I
wouldn't mind regaining some desk space by getting rid of the second
monitor and some keyboards..

Has anyone seen/done a similar setup? Of course, I will post a detailed
summary.
