Hi Mamangers,
I have this error message when trying to use a SCSI 9.1GB SCA 80-pins disk:
WARNING:
/iommu@0,10000000/sbus@0,10001000/espdma@5,8400000/esp@5,8800000/sd@3,0 (sd3):
Error for Command: load/start/stop Error Level: Retryable
Requested Block: 0 Error Block: 0
Vendor: IBM Serial Number:
Sense Key: Not Ready
ASC: 0x4 (LUN not ready), ASCQ: 0x0, FRU: 0x0
At the OK prompt level, when I do a "probe-scsi-all", it seems to work
well, giving me all the info about the disk, using the default target 3
(where it stands physically in my SPARCstation). But when I start the
install process of Solaris, I have this message appearing many times.
Of course, Solaris doesn't install and exits to the # single usermode
prompt. At this point, I try to use the "format" utility, and when trying
to search for the disks, the error is coming back. Also, when I get to the
"format>" prompt and I select the disk, I have to specify the disk type
manually (it doesn't detect it automatically). Of course, none of the
"format>" commands work.
I browsed the web and found (to much) few anwsers about something that may
be related to this, and it seems to be related to an hardware problem. In
other words, the disk has a physical failure.
My question is: is it the case? ;-)
Thanks to all!
