I have a tar file that I created on a Solaris 7 (11/99) machine of a
directory. It is about 1.4 GB is size. It will un tar fine on another
Solaris 7 machine. It will NOT un tar on a Solaris 8 (02/02) machine. I get
a directory checksum error every time. Also the directory does reside on a
Netapp and I am trying to untar to the same Netapp, on a different
partition. The version of tar appears to be the same. Both systems are
running the 32 bit kernel.
Has anyone seen this before? Is it documented anywhere?
