[SUMMARY] time synchronization via ntpdate in Solaris9

Thanks to ddunham@tsg.taos.com for helping me out.

The /etc/default/init file had an incorrect timezone.
I changed TZ to"US/Eastern" and rebooted.

The server showed the clock was off by (you guessed it) 10 hours.
I ran "ntpdate -vsw time.nist.gov" and was sync'ed to the correct time.

original post| Hello All:
original post|
original post| I wanted to sync my clock on my Ultra 10 running Solaris 9.
original post|
original post| As you can see below, ntpdate wants to adjust my clock by 10 hours.

original post| ==========
original post| pts/5 root concept /usr # ntpdate -qv time.temple.edu

original post| ==========
original post|
original post| I think there's a misconfiguration somewhere, and I originally thought it
original post| was the timezone. But /etc/default/init has "TZ=GMT-5"
original post|
original post| But my "date" output shows: Thu Nov 7 13:00:00 GMT 2002
original post|
original post| How can I have ntpdate synchronize my clock correctly?
original post|
original post|
original post| Thanks.
