A Subnet question

Hi everybody,

Firt I'd like to appologize myself, 'cause this might be a little of-toppic
and obviously a stupid-simpel question. But, however, no one could give me a
sufficient answer.
One of our customers has a test-lab with several sub net's. I.e.
10.102.113.2/27 10.102.228.6/27 and
10.102.91.4/27. (Don't ask me who picked whose IP-adresses). Now, all these
machines need acces to a special server; wich is 10.102.228.4/27. To get the
machines connected I add a route by hand. But now, several new machines need
acces to this server too. So my idea was to set the netmask to 255.255.0.0
(for machine 10.102.228.4). But everybody shout: no, can't do this!!!! On
the other hand no one could explain me why I shouldn't. I have NO access to
the router, and therefor I can not modify it.
