Ladies and Gentlemen,
I was trying to install a new SunPCi II card that came with version
2.3.1 of the software. The installation fails since there is not an
/opt/SUNWspci2/drivers/solaris/sunpcidrv.260 file.
This file is the Solaris driver.
There is nothing in the documentation, or on the SunSolve web site
that indicates that 2.6 is not supported, in fact the documentation
states that 2.6 is supported (2.3 Installation Guide) and further
mentions the patch needed for 2.6 if the workstation has a Raptor
card (2.3.1 Product Notes) and OE patches for M64, Xsun, and hsfs
for 2.6 (2.3 Installation Guide).
Various searches of Sun sites and using Google have not turned up
anything. I am trying to avoid upgrading to Solaris 8 on these
machines due to OS size vs machine size.
If anyone has a clue about this, or whether the driver from the
2.3 version of the software works reliably with the rest of the
2.3.1 software on 2.6 I would appreciate hearing from you.
