After having trouble getting a new server to connect to the lan (couldn't see the network or ping default route) I moved it to a new lan that I have control over, thinking it may have been a switch problem. While going down for a sys-unconfig to assign an ip for the new network I began getting the following error message printed to my screen...
SUNW,hmeo : No response from Ethernet network - cable problem?
SUNW,hme0 : Internal Transceiver Selected.
SUNW,hme0 : Auto-Negotiated 100 Mbps Full-Duplex Link Up
It is spamming my screen over and over making it impossible to complete the sys-unconfig. The system is currently halted (stop a) and going nowhere fast. Is this a bad nic? Anyone have any suggestions to remedy this?
Not sure how I can edit any files at this point. FYI the nic was not hardset to anything specific, it was still at the default.
This system is an Ultra 80 running Solaris 8 02/02
