Hi.
I have some problem with making redundant root disk to use
root disk failure.
Platform : E3500, Solaris 8 with recent recommanded patch.
Problem :
Newly made disks does not boot properly. After SunOS banner
displays and configure hostname, it says that cannot mount
/usr and cannot find fsck and out to ok prompt.
What I did so far :
Referencing of SRDB ID 17658, "E3500 boot after replacing
systen disk".
1. Made new disk with same VTOC and newfsed, dumped all currently
using root disk.
2. and mount newdisk to /a
3. drvconfig -r /a/devices -p /a/etc/path_to_inst
4. disks -r /a
5. devlinks -r /a
6. installboot /usr/platform/sun4u/lib/fs/ufs/bootblk /dev/rdsk/cXtXdXs0
7. umount /a
8. luxadm -v set_boot_dev -y /dev/dsk/cXtXdXs0
Did I forget something?
Thanks in advance. I'll summarize.
