I apologize I did not check for recent summaries on this issue on the archive.
David's summary is in the archive on the very same issue. He used the same
drive, and ide-scsi converter found in
http://www.unixhub.com/docs/misc/DVD.html. In addtion he was kind enough to
send his dvdburn and mount scripts.
The other response was to contact ymi.com for the software. This is not a
freeware.

I received a Sun Blade 2000 without DVD-ROM/CD-ROM drive. I am now looking
into getting an internal drive that is DVD-R/RW, CD-RW combo and that can

read DVD-ROM. I also need the same type, but as external drive for my Sun
Blade 100. I could not find a single SCSI based drive. There were

1) Is there a table out there which says what works and what does not under
Sun Blade (100/1000/2000) SCSI/USB/Firewire interfaces under Solaris (min
version required is 2.8 2/02) as fas as DVD-R/RW drives are concerned?
2) Has anyone tested ProDVD
(ftp://ftp.fokus.gmd.de/pub/unix/cdrecord/ProDVD/)
under these interfaces?
I need to make the purchases soon. I am willing to hear more from you all,
before I painfully learn otherwise.
