Hi,

I'm trying to get the custom JumpStart install method to work, and though
i read myself through _really_ much docs, i dont find my mistake, maybe
someone here has an idea:

i did everything according to the docs, setup_install_server,
add_to_install_server, (i installed JumpStart on a Solaris 5.6
(10.10.10.214) in /data/JumpStart)

my add_install_client command:

./add_install_client -c 10.10.10.214:/data/JumpStart -s
10.10.10.214:/data/JumpStart/Solaris_8/ -p 10.10.10.214:/data/JumpStart -n
10.10.10.61:DNS\(255.255.255.0\) -t /data/JumpStart/Solaris_8/Tools/Boot/
cat2-adm sun4u

The rules:

root@backup1:/data/JumpStart>tail -1 rules
hostname cat2-adm - cat2_class set_root_pw
root@backup1:/data/JumpStart>cat rules.ok
hostname cat2-adm - cat2_class set_root_pw
# version=2 checksum=4403
root@backup1:/data/JumpStart>

My sysidcfg:

root@backup1:/data/JumpStart>cat sysidcfg
name_service=NONE

network_interface=hme0
        {hostname=cat2-adm
         default_route=10.3.2.254
         ip_address=10.10.10.226
         netmask=255.255.255.0
         protocol_ipv6=no}

root_password=xxxxxxxxxxx

security_policy=NONE

system_locale=en_GB.ISO8859-15

timezone=CET

timeserver=localhost

terminal=vt100

Profile file for cat2:

root@backup1:/data/JumpStart>cat cat2_class
install_type initial_install
system_type server
partitioning default
cluster SUNWCuser
cluster SUNWCown delete
cluster SUNWCtltk delete
cluster SUNWCxgl delete
cluster SUNWCxil delete
filesys srvr:/usr/openwin - /usr/openwin ro,intr
root@backup1:/data/JumpStart>

but when i do a boot net - install at cat2 from the ok prompt:

Configured interface hme0
Searching for configuration file(s)...
Using sysid configuration file 10.10.10.214:/data/JumpStart/sysidcfg
The system is coming up. Please wait.
Starting remote procedure call (RPC) services: sysidns done.
Starting Solaris installation program...
Searching for JumpStart directory...
not found
Warning: Could not find matching rule in rules.ok
Press the return key for an interactive Solaris install program...

this is my problem here...

backup1 is (10.10.10.214) is my install-server:

root@backup1:/data/JumpStart>dfshares
RESOURCE SERVER ACCESS TRANSPORT
   backup1:/data/JumpStart backup1 - -
root@backup1:/data/JumpStart

if i exit the the interactive install, then i get a shell:

To restart the Solaris installation program,
type "suninstall".
# hostname
cat2-adm
# uname -a
SunOS cat2-adm 5.8 Generic_108528-13 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-250
# ls
etc kernel var
# pwd
/tmp/root
# mkdir bu
# mount -F nfs -o ro 10.10.10.214:/data/JumpStart /tmp/root/bu
# ls bu
any_machine host_class rules.ok upgrade
cat2_class installer set_root_pw x86-begin
check net924_sun4c Solaris_8 x86-begin.conf
Copyright rules sysidcfg x86-class

also i see it over nfs, what is wrong, why does he say:

Searching for JumpStart directory...
not found

on the install server the ethers and the hosts are ok:

root@backup1:/data/JumpStart/Solaris_8/Tools>grep cat /etc/hosts
10.10.10.226 cat2-adm.utaiop.at
root@backup1:/data/JumpStart/Solaris_8/Tools>grep cat /etc/ethers
8:0:20:d2:f:41 cat2-adm.utaiop.at
8:0:20:d2:f:41 cat2-adm
root@backup1:/data/JumpStart/Solaris_8/Tools>

amikor boot net - install utan eljut idaig:

...majd inditja az interaktivot.

root@backup1:/data/JumpStart>cat /etc/dfs/dfstab
share -F nfs -o ro,anon=0 /data/JumpStart
root@backup1:/data/JumpStart>

why doesnt it see the JumpStart directory?

any help is appreciated.

Charlie
