hello,
when i try to tar files to my tape drive, i receive a generic "tar: write
error: I/O error". an "mt status" on the drive looks normal, but attempting
a "mt -f /dev/rmt/0 retension" results in "/dev/rmt/0 retension 1 failed:
Inappropriate ioctl for device". it's a new system, and the tape drive has
worked properly before. i'm thinking hardware problem, but the
inappropriate ioctl message has me wondering: is there a configuration
parameter somewhere i should check?
