Hi ,
We are using NIS . Our NIS mister server is a Solaris 7 , E250 m/c.
All other system are configured to act as slave. But still when ever our
Master server fail all slave starting passing messages
Sep 27 02:18:07 trex ypbind[7998]: [ID 337329 daemon.error] NIS server
not responding for domain "kwantlen"; still trying
Sep 27 02:18:12 trex ypbind[8001]: [ID 647655 daemon.error] NIS server
for domain "kwantlen" OK
This cause the login process slowdown. Is this the way NIS should work
. While I am think in case master is down slave should act as master. May
be we have some thing wrong in our configuration.
