print filter

Hi All,

I have the current configuration :

Print server with Solaris 2.6 and HP jetadmin installed.
Lot of Solaris 8 clients with remote printer defined to the print server.

I have a problem in my environment in which users sometime try to print
*.gif or *.jpg from the command line with lp and then huge amount of
papers get wasted.

I would like to prevent this and i think that the best way is to
manipulate the printer filter and check there if the file argument to
the lp command is matching one of the non-allowed types. If this the
case , discard the request and print corresponding message.
I tried playing with the filter with partial success.

Can anyone instruct me with the exact method in order to implement such
a restriction ? ( maybe not through the filter but something else ? )

Thanks !
