There where a few suggestions such as iostate E, but the results and
replies pretty much confirmed what I thought that the D1000 is dumb and
doesnt have a clue what its serial number is.

Unfortunately due to our hardware installation I will have power down
the D1000 and 2 x 280Rs to get the serial number from the D1000

StorEDGE D1000 array from the command line using Solaris 8.
