Greetings,
I am trying to setup a Solaris-based DHCP server and/with
Solaris-based DNS with dynamic updates to support Windows 98/NT/XP systems.
In my setup (Solaris 9-dhcpmgr, ISC Bind 9.2.1)
The same system is the DNS server and DHCP server.
I have "allow-update" with the the IP of the system in it.
DHCP does issue IPs, but I can not see them in DNS when I do
an nslookup query.
I have the "Update DNS host information upon client request"
checked on DHCP manager .... but no apparent DNS
updates (i.e. I am checking from a SUN with "nslookup -
dynamicDns-ip-address")
One more bit of info (in case this is the problem),
I am only testing right now with a Window98 client setup for DHCP boot
Any ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Harold White
