I saw this response on sunmanagers...

Chunk of disk space is mounted on NFS server as /filesystemforhomedir. and
that chunk is shared via auto_home in NIS environment.
where do I make this change if I'm running NIS and automaps?
Do I add this in vfstab of NFS server where it's mounting
/filesystemforhomedirs? Or do I add this in auto_home on NIS server?
or Do I add this in auto_master on clients?
I've up the nfsd to 64
I am also looking to up parameters in /etc/system of NFS server
set maxusers=200
set ufs_ninode=5000
set ncsize=5000

Is this safe? Would this change my current development environment in
anyway? This is a primary development server and I would hate to temper
with anything that would affect developers in anyway.

Any other suggestions most welcome...
