Hi All;
I have a solaris server I want to resolve web logs on. With "every
other" unix box, gethostbyaddr() issues a PTR query to the appropriate
nameserver.
Solaris, by default at least, issues the PTR query. When it gets the
reply, however, it issues an A query to see if the returned name matches
the address.
This may be desirable in some circumstances, but resolving logs isn't one
of them.
Is there a way to change this behaviour so that gethostbyaddr only issues
the PTR query?
