combining disksuite and vxvm

I have an existing server (E420R) with the internal disks mirrored with
disksuite. I might be getting an a1000 with raid manager 6.22. I've read
that veritas has to have a rootdg disk group, and that this can cause
problems if you're using disksuite. I've read of a workaround involving
making the rootdg comprised of two small partitions on the disksuite-ed
disks.

That's great, except this is a production system and I don't have unused
partitions/space on the disks.

Am I out of luck with using vxvm and disksuite on the same system?
