Help: Out of disk space but problem adding new drive

I have a Ultra Sparc 60. I have one 18gig drive and I just purchased a
new 36gig drive to add some badly needed space.

The drive is not being recognized and when I try to "probe-scsi", i get
endless bus errors. The only way out is to power down.

What am I doing wrong?
