Solaris 8, sendmail 8.12.3 and /usr/lib/smrsh

We have a majordomo2 configuration running smoothly on Solaris 7, but
we want to move this to a Solaris 8 production box. Both boxes run
identical sendmail versions and sendmail.cf, with Mprog set up to use
/usr/lib/smrsh. I created /var/adm/sm.bin, and created symlinks which
point to the executable for majordomo2 (mj_enqueue). Everything is
identical at this point.

When I send mail to majordomo@so8_host, using the symlink, I get a bounce
and the complaint on the console is,

smrsh: uid 1: attempt to use mj_enqueue -o -d llnl.gov -P10 -p10

But, if I copy the mj_enqueue into /var/adm/sm.bin, all is well in the
universe and it behaves as expected.

I don't need to do this on the Sol7 box, which handles the symlink very
well.

Did /usr/lib/smrsh change, and now does a new check for symlinks, or is
there another explanation, and something I can change to get my symlinks
working again?

Thanks,

deb
