This weekend I had to 'clone' an existing system from one Ultra 10 to
another one. Turned out that the two machines were not identical. The main
difference appears to be that they have different console framebuffers and
when I boot the new machine I get 'Can't find driver for console
framebuffer' and consequently the X server doesn't start on the console.
The system that I cloned from was an 'Elite 3D' system (Framebuffer in that
machine is P/N '501-5484') and the system I am moving to is a Creator3D
Series 3 (P/N 501-4788)
>From what I gleaned from the archive I need to do a pkgadd to add the
appropriate packages from the Solaris 8 CDs. My problem is I don't know
what packages I need or how to find out which ones I need. Any help would
be appreciated and I will of course summarize to the list.
