Hello thanks for your responses.
I can get anonymous ftp to work just fine, it is however the sub-login part
of anonymous I cannot get to work.
# ftp localhost
Connected to localhost.
220 venus-test-2 FTP server (Authorised Use Only) ready.
Name (localhost:mitchej): ftp
331 Guest login ok, send ident as password.
Password:
230 Guest login ok, access restrictions apply.
ftp> user
(username) mitchej
331 Password required for mitchej.
Password:
530 Login incorrect.
Login failed.

The guide I get from sunsolve is only for solaris 2.6
