I change S to s but I'm in another Problem

Hi karim ,
                There seems to be a demon starting through startup
script. Boot the system in single user mode then Check for the NIS
demon in /etc/rc3.d and /etc/rc2.d if its there rename the script (
change S to s) the system should come up after doing this activity

but I can't boot and I'm receiving alot of error message at boot time.

how I can change back the s to S coz when I boot in single user mode I
can't move due to Read-only issu
